چکیده

Conventional Time-Frequency and Time-Scale Representations are often too rigid to capture fine details of sound or musical signals. Adaptation of ideal time-frequency tilings is often desirable in order to represent the signal in terms of components that are meaningful from a physical or perceptual point of view. Remapping of the time and frequency axes by means of time and frequency warping can help achieve the desired flexibility of the representation. However, in the general case, the conjugate variable is affected as well, so that the resulting representation plane is distorted. In this paper we show methods to redress the conjugate distortion introduced by warping, both in the unsampled case of the integral Short-Time Fourier Transform and in the sampled case of generalized Gabor frames. The discrete-time frequency warped wavelet transforms

In this paper we show that the dyadic wavelet transform may be generalized to include non-octave spaced frequency resolution. We introduce orthogonal and complete wavelets whose set of cutoff frequencies may be adapted, in the simplest case, by changing a single parameter. The novel wavelets and the FWWT transform computational structure are obtained via an intermediate Laguerre representation ...

Edge Detection in Digital Images Using Dispersive Phase Stretch Transform

We describe a new computational approach to edge detection and its application to biomedical images. Our digital algorithm transforms the image by emulating the propagation of light through a physical medium with specific warped diffractive property. We show that the output phase of the transform reveals transitions in image intensity and can be used for edge detection.

Nonlinear bending waves in Keplerian accretion discs

The nonlinear dynamics of a warped accretion disc is investigated in the important case of a thin Keplerian disc with negligible viscosity and self-gravity. A one-dimensional evolutionary equation is formally derived that describes the primary nonlinear and dispersive effects on propagating bending waves other than parametric instabilities. It has the form of a derivative nonlinear Schrödinger ...

Investigating the Influence of Filter Uniformity Coefficient and Effective Pore Size on Critical Hydraulic Gradient and Maximum Erosion of Dispersive and Non-dispersive Samples

Filter is one of the main components of embankment dams. By a simple but effective performance, filter protects the dam against erosion and soil scouring in impervious core caused by leakage (piping) and makes it safe. Interaction between filter and erodible base soil is a complex phenomenon which is dependent upon several factors, and has challenged researchers for better understanding the fil...

Determination of Gold in Various Environment Samples by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry Using Dispersive Liquid–Liquid Microextraction Sampling

A new dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction separation/preconcentration procedure as a rapid sample-preparation technique is proposed for detection of ultra trace amounts of Au(III) in various media by flame atomic absorption spectrometry using 1,5-diphenyl-1,3,5-pentanetrione as chelating agent. Carbon tetrachloride and methanol were used as extraction and dispersive solvents, respectively....
